Felt weird playing this without having played The Last of Us, while knowing that in terms of gameplay (and even story to an extent) this game cribs heavily from TLoU
I still enjoyed it and would play the sequel though, the setting is original enough to keep my interest and the graphics and polish are very impressive for such a small studio
Surprised to see the lukewarm response here. I think the game is pretty stellar throughout. The in-game mechanics aren't the most deep thing ever but they are certainly above average in terms of the genre, and the characters/setting are super great. Not to mention just how incredible the visual design is. Thought this was a pretty incredible experience, especially for what was at the time a budget title.
I agree that the setting is not bad even if a bit oversaturated but to say that the characters are super great is a huge overstatement to me. I think it would be difficult to make the characters more one-dimensional.
Disagree with that entirely. I think it's one of the few games I've seen that gets kids right. Especially the way the characters start out as basically strangers and gradually become class by game's end.
