Other Ocean Interactive was originally founded as a subsidiary of Backbone Entertainment called Backbone Charlottetown in 2006. A year later, co-founder Andrew Ayre bought out the company from Foundation 9 Entertainment and renamed it as Other Ocean Interactive. The company has since formed the Other Ocean Group, joining hands with other former Backbone Entertainment subsidiaries such as Digital Eclipse Software.
