Maddy Makes Games was founded by
Maddy Thorson while creating games in her parent's basement. Its first major franchise was the platformer
Jumper, whose titular character was notably featured in
Super Meat Boy. The company also produced the
OUYA most popular game,
TowerFall, though the game had only sold about 7,000 copies between the console's launch in 2013 and April 2014. The company officially closed on September 5th, 2019 with the founding of
Extremely OK Games alongside Maddy's team members on Towerfall and
Celeste, the company's two most successful projects.
