Funnybone was founded as The Cute Company in 1985. They developed a variety of children's and education games, including a number of the JumpStart titles in the 1990s and early 2000s.
They changed their name to Funnybone Interactive at some point by the mid-90s, which was their name when they were acquired by Davidson & Associates in February 1995. Eventually they were merged with JumpStart Games, the company behind the JumpStart franchise, through a parent company of Davidson & Associates.
They were eventually acquired by Vivendi Games, which dissolved Funnybone in 2003.
