Orignally established as an independant company in California by Activision founders Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead, Accolade were acquired by Atari, SA in April 1999 and briefly renamed to Infogrames North America, before being folded into Atari, Inc. in 2000.
In 2017, Accolade's intellectual property and branding were acquired by Hong Kong investment company Billionsoft, who also own the rights to several other legacy Atari and Infogrames products. The company was subsequently revived, beginning with Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.
