Odell

Franchise
Odell was a brief series of educational games from MECC that involved the player trying to help a fish survive as it encountered other aquatic life it could eat, flee from or chase away while teaching concepts of ecological balance and the food cycle. The games were based on an earlier game from the 1970s that educator Ken Witt wrote for the MECC Timesharing System and named after Odell Lake in Oregon.

Elements of the original Odell game appeared in various other biology and science educational titles from MECC, but by 1986 Odell Lake it had become its own stand-alone game and was followed in the mid-1990s by a multi-media sequel Odell Down Under.
