Highly revolutionary for its time, and still holds up. Every character in this game is unique and likeable, including the villains, and it tells a story that blends cyberpunk and fantasy in a very engaging way. Combat is fun and variety of weapons, moves, and party members keep it fresh. Incredible soundtrack. Sometimes it’s hard to understand what to do next, and some sections haven’t aged well mechanically.

Very underrated. People treat it like it’s the second worst RE game, which it isn’t. Gameplay is very fun (better with another person than with the terrible ai partner), and there’s a lot of cool enemies and environments. There’s some ridiculous parts (ie boulder punching) but I think that just adds to the b-movie feel that RE games were adopting in this era. A very fun time, even if it isn’t necessarily scary.

Best of the over-the-shoulder action RE games, without a doubt (besides RE2 remake). Not very scary, but very good gameplay + cheesy b movie action vibes are very fun and make up for the departure from true horror. Tank controls and gunplay feel annoying at first, but become more endearing and satisfying as game goes on. Leon is the greatest Resident Evil protagonist.

Freerun is fluid and satisfying, but gameplay becomes repetitive after some time. Very little to separate missions from eachother. Story is not engaging and the ending is bad. Protagonist(s) are dull. Fun for gameplay and setting, but the rest of the game isn’t amazing.
