Although the game suffers from struggles relating to inventory management (a staple in the AC series) and my gamecube controller having input lag, Population Growing is easily the best of the Animal Crossing's series. There's plenty of effort poured into making each NPC conversation memorable and entertaining. Like Wild World/City Folk, there's plenty to let my mind wander about - possibly more so than when I was an overlyimaginative child.

Nostalgic on account of being a game I played from my youth, but it pails in comparison to what population growing offers atmospherically. Boring NPC encounters and shoddily implemented community projects comprise a majority of the NL experience.

An indie favourite. So much inspiration and passion has been poured into this game that it is impossible to ignore. The only thing keeping Cave Story from true video game perfection is a plot with some weaknesses and an absolutely bullshit method for attaining the good ending. The core gameplay could also do with a bit of refining, though what is there is already pretty damn good.

Going back to this years after I last played it was super reaffirming. The entire way I evaluate games has changed drastically within the last two years, yet I somehow found myself loving the exact same things that I did when I first played it. It's truly inspiring and admirable how a guy with zero experience in game development managed to produce one of the most covertly influential games ever, as well as how sincere and lovingly put together the entire experience is. Game's timeless.

A really bad game that doesn't deserve the defending that it gets. Mother 1 is outright hostile with it's poor design choices and lack of balance. Through my exposure to this game over the years, I was of the opinion that Mother 3's ending would be more gratifying had I experienced this game first, though it's so vacuous and empty that I felt like nothing was gained from playing it. On an unrelated note, I'm finally a real EarthBounder!!!!!! It's been seven whole years since I picked this game up for the first time, and I'm jubilant now that I'm finally be able to shelve this game forever. With confidence. EarthBound will always be my favourite game of all time, and I'm glad that I was able to see everything from this series through to the end. It's the least I felt that I could do with all that the games have done for me.

Really awkward and frustrating at points, but I like it. The beauty of Spira made the ~160 hour grind to 100% completion worth it.

Highly replayable to the point where I've run my interest in it into the ground

Easily the most graphically impressive and immersive game I've ever played. You know you're doing worldbuilding right when it makes me want to live in a dystopia. As for the gameplay, I much prefer the previous game over this one, but it's still fun. It feels really good to grind and fly around midair while tricking.

Plenty of heart from a heartist who knew what he was doing. A timeless aesthetic and a great soundtrack, though the game is weighed down by the gimmick stages and the Katamari being too vulnerable.

A favourite of 2022 for me, though it's just a little too high IQ for me. Some of the love puzzles in this game require that you solve the most cryptic puzzles ever made or have an inhuman level of patience. The monster soul puzzles, however, are a bit too easy. It was probably beyond what they were capable of at the time, but there's a level of simplicity to them that's just too easy and predictable. When it's good, though, it's pretty great. I love exploring and vibing around the Moon world to the MDs.

Yeah, pretty alright. I like the story and the characters, though the turn-based combat and dungeons leave a bit to be desired. Managing all the social elements of the game is a hook that makes playing the game worth it, though.

I'm not too big on how this game is artificially lengthened by having the mega picross puzzles just be the regular picross puzzles but reordered. However, at the end of the day it's picross. And I like picross.

Probably the best-designed game I've ever played and easily the better of the two portals. There's an astounding level of effort poured into the way portals are used and how that concept builds over the course of the game., rewarding the player at all times for thinking about what to do and how Portals are used (which is all the more shocking when you consider that the gameplay and puzzles are the weakest part of the game).

My favourite racing game as of 27/10/2022!!!!!!!!! Visual presentation is outstanding and the optimism/character development made the game for me.

First game that's really made me think about the message it's trying to send rather than the aesthetic qualities that appeal to me. The story and atmosphere are pretty nice, though it draws to a conclusion much too soon and the ending qualifiers are pretty dumb. Edit: My 6-star rating ass from a few months ago is r-worded and gay. James' sudden descent into madness is justified by how deluded the constructs of his mind are and shit, and this game is hella kino. Probably the only game I've played that I regard as a work of art.

Takes the crown for best 2D platformer by a landslide. Though I am tired of S3+K by now, I suspect I have gotten about 30 - 40 playthroughs out of this game in total.

A massive departure from the momentum set forth by Sonic 2. Shit level design choices are only barely justified by the amazing atmosphere and the fact that it was my favourite Sonic game when I was a young'un. I can't help but think about the amazing potential that can be done with CD's concept. Amy and Metal are both great additions to the Sonic universe, and there could be plenty done with the time travel gimmick if Sega's A team were cast with creating this one. I've always imagined the possibility for there to be three ways to play the game (each with separate level designs and playstyles). The past would be exploring for the robot generators and metal holograms, the future could be a boss rush mixed with a more urgent playstyle and the present could be the uniform playstyle the genesis games are known for. Time travel would have to carry over between zones and not only be relegated to a place where there's two back-and-forth springs for this idea to work, however.

As something to play casually without much concern for completion, it is alright. However, where it gets real bullshitty are all the completion requirements and the heavy reliance on trial and error. As well as the game controls, there is hardly any satisfaction to be gained from completing any of the levels because the experience boils down to mastering one level. The true skill comes from adapting to whatever bullshit lays ahead.

Short, sweet and well-designed. My favourite of all the Zelda's I've played, though I can't help but feel like something impedes me from fully enjoying these games. Beyond the fun exploration and addictive gameplay, everything else about the game is just barely palatable - especially the writing, which is so goddamn boring to read through. Of all the Nintendo series, Zelda is distinguished for having the most banal and drab personality - which is unfortunate considering that's exactly what I value in video games.

Tight gameplay tied together with even tighter visuals, story and soundtrack. There isn't really much to master with TWEWY - it's all just chaos and carefully selected fashion accessories, yet it makes for one of the most intriguing and well-planned video game experiences I've ever had the joy of experiencing.

Very tiresome and repetitive. Although the appeal of Katamari is the simplicity, it is impossible for there to be much of a hook or any real expansion on the premise because of it.
