Link

Link is the lead protagonist of The Legend of Zelda [ゼルダの伝説] franchise. Rather than being a single individual, Link's appearances are frequently considered separate individuals symbolically outfitted with a green tunic and long, conical hat. In most instances, his destiny leads him to defeat Ganon [ガノン] with the aid of Princess Zelda [ゼルダ姫] in order to protect the mythical Triforce.

Over the course of the character's history, several design variations have emerged distinct from his primary appearance. Most notably, Toon Link [トゥーンリンク] represents Link's cel-shaded appearances in the Four Swords and Wind Waker subseries and appears as a unique character in the Super Smash Bros. [大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ] series alongside Young Link [こどもリンク], his youthful variation in the Hero of Time subseries. Hyrule Warriors [ゼルダ無双] also introduces Linkle [リンクル], a gender-swapped variation.
